I've been recommending beefing up About Us pages to clients as I've seen a clear uptick in crawler activity to those pages but this really deepens my understanding of these models pick and choose to visit.
imo, About us pages being hit "only" 15% of the time shows this is the single most important lever (that publishers can easily control), but its the bare minimum publishers should be doing.
Thanks Oleg, yes I really wanted to help publishers with brand marketing and communicating their value propositions. What I found is kinda what we knew BUT I think the specific pages help map out a strategy. :)
